i-PEN
Industrial Process control Electronic Nose Intelligent Gas Sensors for the Industry
The gas sensor array systems i-PEN are based on our electronic nose technology. The devices were developed for
operation in hostile industrial environments. With a design compatible with an industrial standard (19"
euroboard format) a very flexible usage is possible.
The process control nose i-PEN-PCN consists of a sensor array, gas pumps and a patented sampling system. For special applications also a version with an enrichment and thermal desorption version (i-PEN-ET) is available. The gas detection devices can be easily adapted to particular requirement in process control applications. Modifications and adaptations to your specific application are possible. Examples During production and handling of chemicals there is often the possibility of leakage. Especially if the chemicals are harmful a detection of leakage in the high ppb - low ppm range is needed. Based on i-PEN a device for the detection and identification of gases occurring in the natural gas industry was developed. Especially when working with sour gas additional monitoring is necessary because of the |
high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide in this type of natural gas.
Besides methane also benzene, which is one of the main
compounds found in the condensate of the pumping systems, has to be detected. With the system a continuos
supervision supervision at critical locations of the industrial plants is now possible. Releases of toxic or
explosive gases can be detected at the earliest stage in order to prevent damage and safe life. The reliable
all day working system also reduces costs, because the inspection intervals of the plants can be minimized.
