How can we be sure? Despite the good closure techniques used nowadays to ensure the tightness of beer barrels, also named Kegs, it comes that every now and then contaminations due to its misuse are detected. In some cases these contaminations may not be completely removed during the cleaning process.
The Technique With the help of a sensor array technology it is possible to detect and alarm at the presence of impurities inside the keg by analyzing the gas mixture.
The basis of this technique is to measure the gas mixture simultaneously with the different sensors. The sensors react differently in the presence of different gas mixture. Based on the rests of beer normally found inside the empty kegs a standard pattern is created by joining the signals from all sensors. When it comes to the analysis, the recognition software will evaluate the date and release an alarm if the pattern found in the keg is different from the standard. The capacity of measuring in such a broad range, allows that also unknown contaminations can be detected.
